The two day program is directed at a curriculum that teaches attitudes, behaviours and skills that would be a prerequisite to the advanced course and to life in general. The Basic Counselling skills and Approaches (BCS&A) programme offers a sound foundation in counselling theory, skills and practice, that serves as a strong foundation for personal growth, profession practice and for advanced learning. The Course is designed for Practitioners, enthusiasts and newcomers at a graduate level from any discipline who wish to work as intervention professionals in the field of counselling psychology, therapy and for professionals who wish to acquire counselling skills to enhance their performance in the role that they already occupy in their workplace e.g., teachers, HR professionals or leadership coaches, etc. The Course also prepares its students for a mental health examination, to refer appropriately, and to work cooperatively with other mental health professionals, such as psychiatrists and psychologists.
